Fraser Island is a unique natural environment - this world heritage listed island is the largest sand island in the world and the only place on the planet where rainforest grows from sand.

There are two main resorts on Fraser Island, The Kingfisher Bay Resort, a luxury resort on the western side of Fraser and Eurong Beach Resort situated right on the beach on the eastern beach.

Fraser Island is a very popular destination because of it's unique features and amazing freshwater lakes and streams. The island's roads are just sand tracks, so a 4WD vehicle is a must to transverse the island.  Care should be taken when driving on Fraser Island as the tracks can be challenging and the beach can be a dangerous place to drive at certain times because of the tides and the constantly changing conditions.

Fraser Island combines a European history and Aboriginal heritage to contribute to the enjoyment of Fraser Island. This combination makes Fraser Island one of the most rare and interesting features of Queensland’s coastline.
