Your Villa is one of just fifteen hidden in the rainforest. The view of the sunlight dancing across the water from your balcony is almost hypnotic. If it’s not fresh, it’s not on the menu.

There are many ways to fill the day but a beach picnic comes highly recommended. You set off by boat with a hamper fit for royalty to discover one of the many secluded bays. Bedarra Island often has more beaches than guests, so your privacy is guaranteed.

And after cooling off in the the pool, the legendary Bedarra Island Resort bar offers one of Australia’s finest selections of wine, spirits and imported beers. It’s all included in your tariff, so have whatever takes your fancy.

Dining on Bedarra

Restaurant
An open terrace restaurant overlooks the cascading pool in an intimate setting for a la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner, all of which are included in your tariff.

The menu is varied and changes daily. Breakfast is available from 8.00am, lunch from 1.00pm and dinner from 7.00pm.

Gourmet picnic hampers for beachside outings are available on request daily. Please advise of any special dietary needs in advance.

Bar and Lounge
The resort's relaxed lounge features our well known self service open bar which is comprehensively stocked with Australian and imported beers, along with champagne, a quality selection of Australian wines, spirits and liqueurs. The bar is open 24 hours.

Getting to Bedarra Island

Bedarra Launch
A 20 minute launch service between Dunk Island and Bedarra Island operates daily and meets all flights into Dunk Island. Request at time of booking through P&O Australian Resorts.

Air
Regular flights are available from all major Australian capital cities to Dunk Island (DKI) via Cairns (CNS) with Qantas (QF) and Virgin Blue. Australian residents can check with P&O Australian Resorts for the best available airfares.

Macair operates the connecting flight between Cairns and Dunk Island up to 3 times daily. Skytrans is our preferred charter carrier and offers a range of charter options from Cairns. The flight between Cairns and Dunk Island takes 40 minutes.

Baggage Allowance
Passengers may be restricted to one suitcase and one small carry-on item of hand luggage. A limit of 16kg per person applies (subject to loading restrictions).

Helicopter
Sunlover Helicopters offer charter flights to Bedarra Island upon request.

Private Chauffeured Car Transfer
Cairns Limousines offer a meet/greet service from Cairns Airport and Cairns City to Mission Beach. Cars depart daily on demand and seat up to 3 passengers with luggage. Larger vehicles are also available. Your car transfer can connect with a Quickcat transfer to Dunk Island which departs to and from Mission Beach twice a day

Launch
The Quickcat departs from Clump Point Jetty at Mission Beach to Dunk Island Jetty. Mission Beach is approximately 2 hours by road south of Cairns. Transfer time is approximately 20 minutes. Water transfers can be arranged from the mainland township of Mission Beach to Dunk Island.

15 private, freestanding Villas are available in 3 different styles. There are 9 Double Storey Villas, 4 Split Level Villas and 2 Premium Villas. Each has been built around the natural landscape with the rainforest providing privacy between each Villa. All Villas feature a private balcony, separate living area and a casual charm all their own. Premium Villas feature magnificent ocean views.

Split Level Villa
The bedroom and living areas are separated in a casual format, allowing the King size bed to be separated in a twin configuration if desired. Split level villas are nestled amongst lush tropical rainforest overlooking the the resort and neighbouring islands.

Double Storey Villa
A unique design, featuring upstairs lounge, double balconies and lower level bedroom and bathroom. Double story villas are located close to the beachfront, central resort facilities and set in the rainforest.

Premium Villa
Commanding magnificent ocean views, the two premium villas are split level in style and offer the ultimate in absolute privacy.
