South Molle Island Resort features 405 hectares of unspoilt National Park rimmed by scenic beaches, bays and inlets. the perfect location to get away from it all, the resort offers a casual and relaxed atmosphere ideal for both families and couples.

South Molle Island Resort also offers the opportunity to play a 9 hole golf course on the resort with wonderful views over the Whitsundays and surrounded by National Park, go snorkelling or swimming at one of the many easily accessible bays and inlets or take in one of the many walks in the National Park. You can make your stay as relaxed as you like or action packed full of fun and adventure.

The Whitsundays consists of over 74 tropical islands clustered around the coast some 1140 km north of Brisbane and 640 km south of Cairns. Known as the Whitsundays, most of the islands are National Parks. All are within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, which is World Heritage listed and which extends to the famous coral platforms some 25 nautical miles from Airlie Beach, Cannonvale and Shute Harbour, the Whitsunday coast towns collectively knows as Whitsundays.

Accommodation
Select your accommodation ranging from units overlooking the golf course and National Park, to absolute beachfront locations with panoramic views of the Whitsundays to specially designed family units. All include air conditioning, colour TV, iron/ironing board, minibar and tea & coffee facilities.

Location
South Molle Island Resort is serviced by both Hamilton Island Airport and Proserpine Airport. From Hamilton Island Airport it is only a 30 minute launch trip across the Whitsunday Passage. From Proserpine Airport, you will board a coach to Shute Harbour from where your launch will depart for the 35 minute crossing to South Molle Island.

For the golfers (and non-golfers!), you can play to your heart’s content on our 9 hole golf course. Equipment is available through the Golf Club. Club hire and green fees do not apply to house guests. Gymnasium Open from 7.00am - 11.00pm and located near the tennis courts.

Pool
The Resort has a 25 metre pool for the use of guests and day guests. We also have a kids pool located nearby the main pool.

Tennis Courts
The Resort has two floodlit tennis courts. Please make a booking and collect your equipment at the Golf Club or Reception during non-operating times.

Walking Tracks
Our Island’s National Park offers a great variety of walking tracks offering magnificent views of the Whitsunday Islands. The various peaks and bays of South Molle Island are quite accessible via approximately 16km of walking trails through the National Park. All trails are well kept, well signposted, and will repay the walker with a diversity of vegetation and wildlife, delightful destinations, and expansive views along the way. It’s generally a good idea to take water with you, and let someone know where you’re going, preferably Reception Staff. Maps of walking tracks are available at reception. Also remember that the island is a National Park, therefore, the entire area is protected, and nothing should be harmed or removed.

Boat Transfers
Transfers from Shute Harbour (to South Molle Island) 7:00am, 8:00am, 8:30am, 9.30am, 11:45am, 2:30pm, 5:15pm (6:30pm - Friday only). Transfers from South Molle Island (to Shute Harbour) 8.25am, 8.55am, 10:30am, 1:30pm, 4:30pm & 5.50pm (11:00pm -Friday only).

Check-Out
Check-Out time is 9.00am. Please leave your labelled baggage outside your room for the porters to deliver to your boat. Upon vacating your room, please return your room key and finalise your account at Reception. Should you require extended use of your room, please make your request with Reception prior to your day of departure.

Childcare FREE (Bookings Essential)
SHIPMATES - we cater especially for 6 weeks to 5 year olds. We pride ourselves on providing a warm, friendly environment, filled with fun, age appropriate activities for all our littlest house guests. Hours: 8.00am - 4.00pm

SHIPMATES is an adjunct care service providing care for a maximum of 2 hours at any one time. Parents may choose any 2 hour period at one time to enjoy the many activities the island has to offer daily or just relax in our tropical surrounds. SHIPMATES is open all year round.

Airport
Hamilton Island Airport is approximately 30 minutes journey by boat transfer. Proserpine Airport is located 40 minutes from Shute Harbour and connects with bus and taxi services. The water transfer to Shute Harbour, is approximately a 20 minute journey. Should you require any assistance in making arrangements please contact the Tour Desk or Reservations.

Baby Sitting
Baby sitting is available for after hours care at a cost of $15 per hour, per family with a minimum of 2 hours sitting. Bookings should be made at SHIPMATES before 3pm daily. Additional Polynesian night care - on Friday nights ONLY SHIPMATES offers a babysitting service in Kids Club from 6.30pm - 11pm - Please see the staff at SHIPMATES for costs and bookings. Minimum numbers apply.

Beach Towels
Beach Towels are available from Reception. Whilst bath towels can be exchanged as often as required, we ask that you assist in helping our environment to conserve our precious water by exchanging only when necessary.

REEF RANGERS
Available during Queensland, New South Wales & Victoria School Holidays only. An active program for 6 - 12 year olds which includes both indoor and outdoor activities such as bushwalks, watersports, beach games, cooking, arts and crafts.

Hours: 8.00am - 4.00pm Parents may choose any 2 hour period at one time. Check our program to see what's on and when.

CRUISE CARE SERVICE
South Molle Island Resort Shipmates and Reef Rangers Kids Clubs offer a Cruise Care Service twice weekly to provide care for children whilst parents enjoy our Sunset Cruise. 4 hours notice is required. Nominal fee involved per family.

Coffee Shop
Our Coffee Shop is open from 9.30am – 4.00pm daily. For coffee and tea, light refreshments, cool drinks, ice creams and sweet temptations.

Discovery Bar
Open 10.00am until late.

Island Bar & Restaurant
All meals included in your package are available in the Island Restaurant. We offer themed buffet style meals ranging from Mediterranean and Australian Bush Tucker to Seafood. Each night's buffet will be displayed at the entrance to the Restaurant.

Golf Club

Check out our watersports department open daily from 9.00am - 5.00pm where you can find activities galore to cool you down such as: Jet Skiing, Water Skiing, Catamarans*, Windsurfers*, Banana Rides, Paddle Skis*, Biscuit Rides, Glass Bottom Boat, Fish Feeding & Coral Viewing tours, Round Island Eco Tours.

SNORKELLING
South Molle Island has some lovely snorkelling spots with fringing reef which give a glimpse of the marine life in the region. Best conditions for snorkelling are mid-high tide with calm seas. Snorkelling equipment is available from the Dive Shop for a minimal fee.

Scuba Diving
Our Resort Dive Shop can introduce you to an experience you’ll never forget. Enjoy a day of sun, sea and excitement as we visit some of Australia’s top dive and snorkelling sites including Bait Reef’s fabulous ‘Stepping Stones’, Manta Ray Bay, Blue Pearl Bay and many more. Travel on board our dive vessel MV ‘Pro-Diver’ with only 25 of your fellow guests. Bait Reef is a special Marine Park management area and only small numbers of divers are allowed in at any one time, therefore the coral and fish are in pristine condition. The chance of a lifetime! We also offer a Resort Dive course which is a two hour course that includes a dive in the safe confines of the Resort's Coral Bay. You can feed our friendly local fish, master all the skills needed to dive the Great Barrier Reef in comfort and safety.

One of our more so traditional activities we have to offer on the resort.

Bird Feeding
One of the more colourful species of birds we have on the island is the Rainbow Lorikeet. Their habitat mainly consists of Rainforest with Eucalyptus emergent woodlands and open forest, grassland with grasstrees, cleared and highly disturbed areas. Every day at 3.00pm meet at the Golf Bar where you can feed these wonderful creatures.

Fish Feeding
Come along and feed the fish at 10.00am daily and see the many species of fish that swim in the local waters.

FISHING
Fishing gear and bait is available from our Watersports (Beachfront) department, who also offer the hire of fishing dinghies if you would like to get to more inaccessible areas. Fishing is usually best around high tide with calm conditions.

BEST FISHING SPOTS
Rocks at end of beach facing Daydream Island. Unsafe Passage (between Mid and North Molle) it’s possible to walk across to Mid Molle at low tide, but is better accessed with dinghy. Western side of Island (Dinghy required) near various patches of reef. Off Planton and Denman Islands (Dinghy required).
