At the height of change in the tourism industry here in the Whitsunday’s, Capt’n Pete saw the launch of a new aviation company – Aviation Adventures. He realised a niche market existed for a small operator to offer highly personalised helicopter tours & transfer operations out of mainland Airlie Beach and therefore, established Aviation Adventures as a specialised company to fill the gap the competition had created.

A point of difference from our competitors was required. Attention to our clientele & the aircraft best suited to the tourism industry were targeted. The Kawasaki KH-4 “Bubble” helicopter is cost effective to operate & has the flexibility to carry up to three adults or two adults & two children. However, its selling point was that it has best visibility of any aircraft, enhancing a truly beautiful part of Australia. With the clear Perspex “Bubble” as the front view & the “Doors off” option for window seats, Aviation Adventures sets the standard for seeing the Whitsunday’s as they should be…… not through a window.

A thorough understanding of both the market & industry, combined with an innovative marketing plan has lead to broad product recognition & spectacular growth for Aviation Adventures since commencing operation in October 2001. The company currently has two “Bubble” helicopters & employs 5 team members with hopes of further expansion.

Aviation Adventures operates unique tours & transfers servicing Airlie Beach, Daydream Is, South Molle Is, Long Is, Hamilton Is, Lindeman Is, Hook Is, Laguna Whitsunday & surrounding areas. Our tours range from 10 minute Scenic Adventures to half day exclusive picnics taking in the Great Barrier Reef, Whitehaven Beach & the Whitsunday Islands from the air.

This trip not only includes a scenic joy flight to or from the reef, but it also includes a stopover on beautiful Whitehaven Beach and a scenic flight over the famous Heart Reef!
